Annette Garvey, LPCC-S (Owner)
Annette obtained a Master of Arts degree from Bowling Green State University and has worked in the mental health field for over 30 years. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervisory endorsement. Annette has a vast amount of experience with both adults and youth providing individual, couples, family, and group counseling.
Annette is passionate about helping others understand and learn to cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, life stressors, and family issues. She approaches treatment from a holistic perspective and uses strength based, cognitive behavioral, solution focused and mindfulness techniques to help you reach your goals. She is also trained in understanding the relationship between physical and mental health, and the role of nutrition in mental health. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and is trained to work with first responders.
Patricia A. Van Kley, PhD
Patricia Van Kley is a supervising psychologist at Fort Meigs Wellness and Behavioral Health. Patricia is a Licensed Psychologist with over 30 years experience in private practice, residential, community, and academic settings. She earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Toledo. Her areas of expertise include treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, stress related conditions, chronic illness, relationship counseling, and coping with loss and life transitions.
Patricia is certified in mind-body medicine by the Center for Mind-Body Medicine (CMBM) and is one of their senior faculty. She facilitates mind-body skills groups at Fort Meigs Wellness and conducts daylong and weekend retreats focusing on mind-body skills.
Patricia developed and taught a course entitled “Mindfulness, Meditation, and Health” for Saybrook University. Some of her recent work for CMBM includes a hospital-wide training in mind-body medicine for clinical and support staff at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana and a training for tribal and school leaders at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
Barbara E. Metcalf, LISW, ACSW, MSW
Barbara Metcalf is a Licensed Independent Social Worker. She obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan. She has practiced in the Toledo area for over thirty years. She has experience in individual, family and group therapies.
Her specific areas of specialization are change of life issues (relationship, health and grief), LGBT issues, and helping people manage mental health issues including anxiety, depression and ADHD/ADD. Barbara is clinically trained and uses a holistic approach, working with the mind, body, and spirit in helping people maximize functioning and obtain a balanced quality of life.
Lacey Wesche, MSW, LISW-S
Lacey is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with experience working with children, adolescents and families. She has over 20 years experience in community, residential, and private practice settings. Lacey earned her Master of Social Work degree from Eastern Michigan University.
Lacey enjoys working with individuals age 13 and up in the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders, grief and women’s issues including dealing with infertility. She has an extensive background and training in working with survivors of abuse and the treatment of PTSD. Lacey utilizes a solution-focused approach including mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and family therapy.
Caitlin Bayer, LPCC
Caitlin is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Toledo and Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Bowling Green State University. She has extensive experience providing group and individual counseling services to individuals with varying backgrounds and present concerns. She has thorough training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and is a Certified Cognitive Enhancement Therapy Coach.
With an emphasis on wellness, Caitlin concentrates on each individual as a whole. She believes in the importance of self-care, individuality, the connection between the mind and body and establishing a positive and trusting rapport with each individual she serves. Caitlin practices with a strengths-based approach and encourages others to embrace their uniqueness and explore new perspectives on life.
Jackie Haskins, LPCC
Jackie Haskins is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 25 years experience in counseling and teaching in higher education settings. She completed both her undergraduate studies and Master’s degree at Western Michigan University.
Jackie utilizes an integrative and holistic treatment approach. She works with adults of all ages. Her areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, habit change, coping with life transitions, coping with illness, relationship skills, stress management, and wellness. She has a strong interest in the ways in which lifestyle factors such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, and relaxation can contribute to optimal mental health.
Ashley Huelskamp, CT
Ashley is a Counselor Trainee working as an intern under the supervision of Annette Garvey, LPCC-S. She is completing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bowling Green State University.
Ashley is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, behavioral challenges, depression, relationship concerns, and various life stressors. She has a particular passion for supporting teens and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and interpersonal relationships. She utilizes strength-based, holistic, and cognitive behavioral approaches to help clients build on their existing strengths, develop healthy coping skills, and work toward meaningful personal growth.
Melissa Burns, LPC
Melissa Is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She obtained both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy, she has worked with clients experiencing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, trauma, self-esteem issues, and other emotional difficulties. Her goal is to help clients explore their experiences while developing practical tools for long-lasting change.
Her approach is compassionate and tailored to each client’s unique story, drawing on their strengths and abilities. With mindfulness-based interventions and a holistic approach, Melissa recognizes the important connection between the mind, body, and spirit. She considers the many factors that influence mental health and wellness, supporting each client in enhancing self-awareness, creating healthy habits, strengthening coping skills, and building positive changes aligned with values and goals. She believes that everyone has unique strengths and the capacity for growth, healing, and feeling empowered. Known for her warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental approach, Melissa creates a safe and supportive environment where clients are guided towards a new chapter of wellness, resilience, and a fulfilling future.
Julie Huntley, Reiki Master & Yoga Teacher
Julie Huntley is a certified Reiki Master with her certificate in Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki Ryoho. She has been a Reiki practitioner since 2020.
Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the practitioner can channel beneficial energy to the client through gentle touch, enhancing and balancing the body’s energy to support healing and well-being. Reiki promotes relaxation and stress reduction. Julie works hands-on or above the body, depending on the client’s comfort level. She works with adults of all ages.
Julie is also a certified yoga teacher and has been teaching gentle flow yoga and Yin yoga since 2016. She believes in and promotes the mind-body-spirit connection.
Janet Caughhorn, Office Manager
Janet has been with Fort Meigs Wellness for over 25 years. As Office Manager, she is well versed in scheduling, insurance, and billing issues. Janet's superpower is client relations; she will take the time to get to know you and set you up with a clinician best suited to meet your needs. Her lighthearted spirit helps clients feel comfortable and welcomed.
